Mechanics
1. Establish Confidential
Member File
Member submits to JBT in absolute confidence a
customer list with corresponding customer ID numbers.
JBT staff cross-references each account submitted
to corresponding JBT ID#.
2. Format Member File to JBT Report Format
JBT staff will confer with members data
processing staff and credit manager to formulate a program, which will convert data
submitted by the member to JBTs reporting format. This ensures that information
submitted by the member is properly reflected in the credit report
3. Member Submits Monthly Aged Trial Balance
The member submits its aged trial balance on a
monthly basis. This information is submitted on hard copy, computer tape, computer
diskette, or transmitted directly to JBT. Many members submit their Customer Master
by customer number, thereby assuring confidentiality and allowing ease of accessibility to
the previously established master file.
Information submitted is immediately entered into
the appropriate subject company. Media through which information was received is
either returned to the member, or destroyed, depending upon the wishes of the member.
4. Member Receives Customized Report at End of Month
At the end of each month, all accounts whose JBT
rating has changed or on which a claim has been placed with JBTs Collection
Department are compiled. This account list is then cross-referenced with your
companys customer list to produce a customized summary of your companys
accounts which have been subject to a rating change or the JBT collection process. The
valuable information is then mailed directly to you, at no extra charge!
5. Interim Updates
In the event that an account is listed in your
monthly information that is not included in your customer "master file", the
information will be rejected. Accordingly, JBT will require that information regarding
such new accounts be provided so that all information is reflected in an accurate manner.
