Conflict Diamonds Confidence Pack
A packet was put together by the World Diamond Council (WDC), which is spearheading a campaign to
ward off any negative publicity in the media, most notably from the film The Blood Diamond,
which is set for a late 2006 or early 2007 release.
This pack includes a cover letter providing an overview of the materials; a managers' action guide on how to
use the pack; a mini-guide with an explanation of key initiatives such as the Kimberley Process and the System
of Warranties; an employee training manual for managers; a back office poster for employees; and a pocket
confidence card for employees that can be a reference tool on the sales floor. A consumer brochure that will
answer questions about conflict diamonds and provide information on the economic role diamonds play in Africa
will be available next month.
